Petra Kvitova born 8 March 1990 is a professional tennis player from the Czech Republic and the winner of the 2011 Wimbledon Championships women's singles title. Her career high ranking will rise to World No. 7 on 4 July 2011. She has won five WTA singles titles.
Petra Kvitova was born to Jir and Pavla in Blovec, Czechoslovakia. Her father Jir introduced her to tennis.During her childhood, Kvitov idolized Czech player Martina Navratilova.
Petra Kvitov is known for her fast left-handed serve. At the 2011 Wimbledon Championships, Kvitov had 36 aces the third-most of any woman. Her height is a help in the speed of her serve, there are few female players as tall as Kvitov, and her left-handedness allows unusual shots, such as the slice out wide to the backhand of right handed players. Her body-serve is also effective. Kvitov is known primarily as a groundstroke player, with a game based on flat forehands and backhands, and her specialty is her forehand down the line. Kvitov's weaknesses are considered to be her net play and her lack of speed.
