Studio 23 is on a winning streak as its national audience share grew to an average of 5% in September, based on recent data from Kantar Media.
The Kabarkada network has overtaken TV5 in the noontime block as it is now in third place with an average audience share of 9% in September vs TV5's 5%.
With new programming and offerings introduced since January 2010, Studio 23's audience share has grown to 5% from its average of 1.8% in January 2010.
Studio 23 Head March Ventosa attributed Studio 23's impressive performance to its latest offerings of movies during lunch and early primetime, Koreanovelas, animes, Top Rank boxing matches, WWE Superstars, UFC and UAAP/NCAA games.
"We have been innovating. Since the start of the year we�ve actually introduced a series of TV programming initiatives and we are proud to say that these initiatives have actually been very successful for us. The audience reception has been very positive and we are proud to say that we now rank fourth overall in the market," said Studio 23 Head March Ventosa in a recent press conference.
Studio 23�s success in programming and growth in audience shares prompted it to innovate and introduce more new programs starting Oct 4.
Mornings on Studio 23 begin with a strong news and current affairs line-up to keep viewers informed of the latest happenings through the free TV telecast of DZMM TeleRadyo�s �Radyo Patrol Balita Alas-Siete� with Ted Failon and �Dos Por Dos� with Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja from 7 am to 8:30 am.
Kids get their daily dose of their favorite Nickolodeon cartoons with �Catdog� and �Danny Phantom� every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and �Wonderpets� and �Chalkzone� every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
With the positive response from viewers on its local programming, Studio 23 has introduced three new shows on its 9:30 pm weeknight block, namely �3ow P0wgz!� with Ryan Bang on Mondays, �Usapang Lalake� with Alex Calleja, Arran Sese, Jobert Austria, and Boom Labrusca on Wednesdays, and �Pa-Bida Ka!� with RR Enriquez and Aaron Atayde on Fridays.
Studio 23 has also introduced a new format for its primetime newscast �iBA-BALITA� with Anthony Taberna, who not only delivers news and analysis, but also does live interviews with newsmakers. In its first week of airing, Anthony scored a coup with a one-on-one live interview with Executive Secretary Jojo Ochoa. Taberna also tackled the controversial reproductive health bill by interviewing parents of big families to help ordinary viewers understand and make sense of the issue.
Kabarkadas will also get to watch a primetime replay of the hit crime docu-drama �SOCO� anchored by Gus Abelgas every Tuesday at 9:30 PM and the explosive investigative reports of Julius Babao, Pinky Webb, and Anthony Taberna in �XXX� every Thursday at 9:30 PM.
For it�s U.S. series, Studio 23 will be airing the highly-anticipated sixth and final season of �Lost,� which premieres on Philippine free TV on Wednesday, November 3, at 10:00 p.m.
