Nicola Verlato, is an italian painter, currently working out of Brooklyn, NY. He goes to crazy lengths prepping for his paintings--reference with models, sculpture, value drawings, digital 3D modeling--really obsessive stuff. He is influenced by other Italian artists such as Liberatore, previously mentioned here. (which makes total sense for both of those guys, growing up drawing all of that Roman sculpture) He is represented by Jonathan Levine Gallery.
