�Anatomy of a Disaster� - GMA-7 Weeklong Primetime Special


Before reprising his role as the greatest Pinoy superhero in the action-adventure series Captain Barbell, Richard Gutierrez fulfills his personal advocacy as he brings environmental awareness to primetime viewers with Anatomy of a Disaster.

From last night, March 21 until Friday, March 25, Richard imparts relevant and timely information and practical tips on survival by tackling some of the most destructive natural disasters in our planet�s history.

In last night episode, AOAD examined earthquakes to give viewers a better understanding of the recent disasters that struck New Zealand and more recently, Japan. Richard also investigated the veracity of the rumored incoming big earthquake in the Philippines and finds out how we can all prepare for the worst.

On Tuesday, March 22, the docu-series zeroes in on flood paths, one of the more familiar and widespread calamities in the country. As Richard revisits his experiences during typhoon Ondoy, the episode will also answer questions related to floods as it presents some of the most catastrophic floods recorded in history.

Volcanoes will be tackled next in AOAD on March 23. The episode features the different types of volcanoes, types of explosions and its ensuing effects to the community. Richard travels to the foot of Mt. Pinatubo and vividly narrates its catastrophic explosion through eyewitness accounts.

In the episode about urban inferno, which will air on Thursday, March 24, Richard seeks advice from a fire fighting expert on what to do during unfortunate fire incidents. Since we are presently observing fire-prevention month, AOAD reminds viewers to be extra cautious as it presents the most devastating fires in recent times.

Finally, on Friday March 25, the scorching heat of magma will be discussed on the show. Know the devastating impact of some of the world�s largest and most destructive volcanic eruptions, and how to survive in such devastating times. Richard also embarks on a dangerous journey in Taal Volcano, which at the time of his visit was at alert level 1.

Knowing that awareness and vigilance are key to survival, the Kapuso Network thought it timely to present these episodes and arm viewers with significant ideas on how to respond to and prepare for future disasters, especially in the local context.
