May Muster

On the first or second of every month, the Ann T. Hathaway blog honors law enforcement officers who have died in service to their communities. The muster is a tradition I learned at Texas A & M University. Once a year, the school turns off most of its lights. Students, alumni, faculty and family attend a huge convocation. Someone calls the name of each departed Aggie from the roll. Another Aggie always answers for their presence: here with us.

We lost twelve police officers in May of 2010.
