William Balfour Arrested For Jennifer Hudson's Family Murders

The Cook County state's attorney's office has just officially charged William Balfour with the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew - Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King.

He's been charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of home invasion.

The 27-year-old ex-husband of Jennifer's sister Julia Hudson was previously in custody on a parole violation and has now been transferred to the hold of Chicago police.

Jennifer Hudson’s Mother and Brother Found Dead

The mother and brother of American Idol alum and Oscar winning best supporting actress Jennifer Hudson were found dead in the mother’s home in Chicago Friday night.

Showbiz website TMZ.com reported that Darnell Donnerson, Hudson’s mom and her brother Jason Hudson were found shot to death and their bodies were discovered by one of her cousins.

The Chicago Police Department who were investigating the crime scene said the killings may be linked to a domestic disturbance.

Excellent singing, interesting story. Lots of great acting, including an Oscar winning performance from Jennifer Hudson.

I was bored.

Here are some personal notes on Dreamgirls:

The biggest problem I had was the Jamie Foxx character. From the hints in the plot, he's got to be a charismatic operator. But the part was underwritten, and the performance too low-key. All his showmanship, his salesmanship, and his flagrant criminal activities were offscreen. His love scenes were tepid.

Originally a Broadway show, the film is full of show-stoppers -- extraordinary songs, full of emotion, belted at high volume. Live, they could be spectacular. On screen, they simply stopped the show.

It's the atmospheric, highly musical story of a "fictional" singing group from Motown that makes it big... And the people they leave behind.

I think you've just got to be in the mood to enjoy this one.
