Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams, Janelle Monae, Jay Sean and many other international celebrities joined a new campaign called Digital Life Sacrifice on behalf of Alicia Keys� charity, Keep a Child Alive. They agree to give up Twitter and other social media sites until $1 million is raised. This campaign started before World AIDS Day on Wednesday (December 1).
�It�s really important and super-cool to use mediums that we naturally are on. This is such a direct and instantly emotional way and a little sarcastic, you know, of a way to get people to pay attention,� Keys said.
These international celebrities willingly let them being photographed in a coffin and filmed videos with a really superb concept called �last tweet and testament� which will be seen in ads.
Keys believes that the celebrities would make a good job of drawing people to pay attention to issues, so she got them to cooperate. According to her, �not one person said no�.
The charity accepts donations through bar-code technology and text messages.
