'Willing Willie' Begins on October 23 at TV5

Willie Revillame's television comeback via TV5 will finally push through on October 23, 2010, Saturday, 5 - 7 pm with a new show titled "Willing Willie".

It was earlier announced to premiere on 10-10-10, but due to the cases that was on going they have to move it in a later date. But, this is still a tentative date.

TV5 bosses - President and CEO Atty. Ray Espinosa, EVP & COO Bobby Barreiro, and head of creatives and entertainment - are currently holding a presscon at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel. When asked about the possible issuance of TRO stopping Willing Willie from airing, Atty. Ray Espinosa said they won't go against the court's decision. But the question for now is: Does ABS-CBN have a strong case?

Music Video: The Hoosiers - Unlikely Hero

Epic single from an epic album. If this can't "save" the album campaign, I don't know what could. I'm not sure what the hell the video has to do with the song, but when you've got a chorus this gargantuan, it doesn't really matter.

Infernal - Fall From Grace

"I don't even move away"

I haven't had my word on Infernal's new album yet, and I figure it's about time. Compared with their last release (which was their career high in my opinion), this album's a step down. It's not bad--in fact, it's all pretty good, but that's the problem. Lots of good... no standouts. Whereas there was a genuine feeling of experimentation on the last album, playing around with various styles and sounds, Fall From Grace feels like one big song. It succumbs to the trendy big synth sound of today's dance music scene (used well, but unsurprisingly, on this track at about the 0:55 mark), and has a bit of an anonymous style to it. The drums on this, the opening track, are one of those moments of inspiration that poke through every once and awhile throughout the album and remind me what a fantastic dance group Infernal can be. The track's got a huge sound and an edge-of-your-seat, exciting melody. A promising start to an otherwise (slightly) disappointing album. But that's my take. What do you guys think?

Britney Spears Beats Charice GLEE Episode

As Jane Lynch said, "it's a Britney Spears' sex riot!"

"Toxic" hitmaker Britney spears has shown in episode 2 of Glee's second season that she still have it.

It was supposedly Madonna's "Glee" tribute episode also and should have been titled "The Power of Madonna,' however it was the show's tribute to Britney Spears that surfaced.

The episode has featured cameos from the pop princess herself, and gained 13.3 million viewers, leading the 8 p.m. hour and posting its best-ever rating of 5.8 among adults 18-49. A 4% up from last week (Audition episode featuring Charice) to a series high.

Britney episode was also Fox's highest rated Fall live-action comedy telecast in eight years among Adults 18-49 (since October 29, 2002, That 70's Show) and nine years among Total Viewers (since November 18, 2001, Malcolm in the Middle).

Meanwhile, Britney was also happy with the result, posting on her Twitter, "I loved it! Thank you guys SO much for making this happen!" she tweeted. The pop princess also gave props to the many song and video re-creations, including "Im a Slave 4 U," saying, "Slave: Oh My God ! Those little boys are SO cute! I know how hard it is to dance with that snake! Nice job."

Kris Bernal Leads the Cast of GMA-7's 'Koreana'

The increasing popularity of South Korean culture or more commonly known as the Korean Wave or Korean Fever sets the stage for GMA-7's newest afternoon drama aptly titled Koreana.

Introducing the fresh and promising love triangle of Kris Bernal, Steven Silva, and Rocco Nacino, Koreana tells the story of a young Filipino-Korean's journey towards discovering her roots, at the same time, fulfilling her personal destiny.

This original teleserye highlights the lead character's (played by Kris Bernal) joys and pains as she struggles through self-discovery, rejection, loss, and inevitable heartache.

Completing the powerhouse cast of this upcoming afternoon drama are Eddie Garcia, Eula Valdez, Angelu de Leon, Lotlot de Leon, Sylvia Sanchez, Marco Morales, Sab Magalona, Joyce Ching and Ram Revilla.

The captivating journey of Koreana begins October 11 after Trudis Liit on GMA Dramarama sa Hapon.

'Imortal' Starring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz Will Start Airing on October 4

The epic battle between two blood lines will begin on primetime television starting Monday, October 4.

Imortal, the fantasy series starring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz, is considered to be the sequel to Lobo because it features some elements from the previous fantaserye. In Lobo, Angel brought life to the character of Lyka, a woman who could transform into a powerful werewolf.

Angel's performance in Lobo earned her a nomination in the 37th International Emmy Awards. The Kapamilya star was one of four nominees for the Best Performance by an Actress category. However, she lost to Julie Walters, who starred in a show produced by BBC.

Lobo was co-directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and E. M. Reyes. This time, Imortal is helmed by Chito Roo, the same director behind the box-office horror films Sukob and Feng Shui. Serving as co-directors are Jerry Sineneng and Trina Dayrit.

Imortal will depict the centuries-old battle between vampires and werewolves. Mythology states that vampires came to the land seeking human blood. In response to the threat posed by vampires, the clan of werewolves rose to the challenge of protecting mortals from the blood suckers. The vampires were almost wiped out but the remaining members of the clan vowed to exact revenge on the werewolves.

In Imortal, Angel will once again assume the character of a she-wolf as she brings life to the character of Lia, a descendant of Lyka. John Lloyd will display extraordinary abilities as Mateo, a vampire who will be attracted to Lia.

Can their forbidden love overcome their destiny?

BBC Winter Lineup - My Highlights

By tomorrow, it will be October and the BBC have finally shown us their winter lineup. There are a lot of interesting shows that I'll talk about more over the next few days but here are the four that I really want to see the most and yes, I'm a walking cliche

Accused: Christopher Eccleston was fantastic a couple of months ago as John Lennon in Lennon Naked and now he's back in this six part drama. Christopher appears in the first episode, playing a drug dealer awaiting to hear his fate in the dock. Later episodes will feature Mackenzie Crook, Peter Capaldi as well as Marc Warren, Juliet Stevenson and Andy Serkis. A date has yet to be confirmed.

Single Father: Expect the explosion of fangirls in the next few weeks because David Tennant is finally back on UK television in this four part series from Mick Ford. Tennant plays a photographer named Dave, whose life is turned upside down following the death of his wife in a road accident as he raises their four children and falls for his wife's friend, Sarah (Suranne Jones). Normally it wouldn't be my thing but I'll give it a go and it starts on October 10th 9pm for four Sundays on BBC1.

Christopher And His Kind: I'd be lying if I didn't say I was looking forward to this one. Matt Smith playing a gay writer - Christopher Isherwood certainly appeals to me the most of these other projects from actors who've played/currently play the Doctor and hopefully there'll be some pretty good guy on guy stuff to boot. BBC2 will be airing this one in late October.

Doctor Who - Christmas 2010 Special: I love that the Moff man isn't overly big on spoilers but I wish we would get an episode title for this one already. Both Michael Gambom and Katherine Jenkins look great and the clips in the BBC trailer seem to back up the fact that this special will be a take on A Christmas Carol. And there better be plenty of Amy and Rory as well as the Doctor playing Christmas ghosts.

Mr Magnus is Back with a Pop Galaxy of Pop Hits-

Take a look at the official video for the Magnus Carlsson single "Feel You"
- a pulsating Dance track with a hint of eighties pop!
And there is much more of the same on his 26 track bonanza of a new album
called Pop Galaxy available from i-tunes just about everywhere..
Yes, your schlager needs this.

Rant #344: How Can People Be So Cruel?

Yes, I know Tony Curtis passed away. Being in "Some Like It Hot" made him a superstar in my book.

But I wanted to talk about something else today, a story that I heard about that really, really rubbed me the wrong way.

It seems that two Rutgers University students illegally taped one of their male schoolmates having a sexual encounter with another man and broadcast the images via an Internet chat program. The schoolmate became distraught, and allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge.

In this almost eerily modern retelling of Bobbie Gentry's "Ode to Billie Joe," the dead student, prior to his death leap, left a message on his Facebook page that read, "Jumping off the gw bridge, sorry."

The two perpetrators, one who was the now dead student's roommate and one who is a female, both 18 years of age, have been charged, and could be looking at five years in prison for their actions.

What motivates supposedly civilized human beings to craft and then carry out such a heinous act?

I wish I knew, but I don't.

The deceased student was a musician, and by all accounts, he was a good student and a fine human being.

But even if he wasn't, why would fellow students--his own peers--even think of committing such an atrocity?

Did his homosexuality bother them? Did his skill as a musician threaten them? Was he somebody that everyone picked on?

Who knows, but it is incredible in this day and age, where political correctness often overshadows right and wrong, that an incident like this could actually happen--and on a college campus yet.

At this juncture, the authorities are still trying to determine whether the body they found is actually the student, and a lot of the information about the case is pretty sketchy.

But if everything ties in together, then you really have to ask how something like this could happen.

Ironically, the campus was in the process of holding seminars related to behavior on campus that are open to students, faculty and employees of the school.

How I wish these two alleged tapers had gone to the seminars. Maybe they would have changed their ways.

But who knows--all we know is that a young man is gone, and simply because two people decided that his privacy was not enough reason to leave him be.

It just does not make any sense at all, does it?

New Earth-Like Planet "Gliese 581g" Discovered

Astronomers deem to have found the first Earth-sized planet outside our solar system that is likely to support liquid water and therefore life. Gliese 581g was discovered orbiting a nearby star at a distance that places it squarely in the "habitable zone" where liquid could exist on its surface.

According to Prof Steven Vogt, who led the team that discovered it, the planet is a similar size to Earth and its mass indicates that it is probably rocky with a definite surface and has enough gravity to hold an atmosphere.

It is as still unknown whether water does exist on the planet or what kind of atmosphere it has. But because conditions are perfect for liquid, which is always a precursor for life on Earth, Prof Vogt believes "that chances for life on this planet are 100 percent".

It is believed that Gliese 581g, has a mass three to four times that of Earth and an orbital period of just under 37 days and is located 20 light years away from Earth in the constellation Libra. The planet is tidally locked to the star, which means that one side is always facing the star and basking in perpetual daylight, while the side facing away from the star is in perpetual darkness.

The researchers estimate that the average surface temperature of the planet is between -24 and 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-31 to -12 degrees Celsius). The surface gravity would be about the same or slightly higher than Earth's, so that a person could easily walk upright on the planet, Prof Vogt said.

Nip/Tuck - Season 6 Review

US Airdate: October 14th 2009 March 3rd 2010

As the show enters its final season, both Sean and Christian are forced to put business above friendship and as Liz prepares for motherhood, Matt hooks up with the last person who should be around kids and Kimber meets an unfortunate ending while Julia occasionally pops up here and there.

Final Cut: They always say that its best for a television show to know where exactly to end and I cant help but wonder if Nip/Tucks last year adheres to that rule or if it became a series that perhaps outstayed its welcome. Unwisely spanning the fifth season throughout the space of three years wasnt the brightest of ideas on Ryan Murphys part and theres something in particular about this season that heightens feelings of fatigue to be perfectly honest.

Hitting on the recession has become such a popular theme with most TV shows at the minute that its not entertaining to watch and nor have we heard anything new so watching both the business and Seans financial struggles throughout the season doesnt make the kind of emotional dent that it might have done maybe a season ago to be brutally honest.

Also I cant help but think that perhaps Ryan Murphys reduced running of this series (along with the previous year) may also come into how the quality from this series is noticeably all over the place. While he was off getting Glee off the ground, it seems that the writers were going through a myriad of different storylines that all had differing potentials but never really reached them.

First of all, theres Teddy. Rose MacGowen replacing Katee Sackhoff in the role was fine she works well with Dylan Walsh and the characters still interesting but shes also too short lived. Only lasting five episodes and then being killed by a random serial killer might have some poetic justice to Teddy but its a disappointing way to bump off a character that at least couldve lasted a bit longer, especially given that this season was lacking in interesting villains.

And theres the arrival of Seans younger brother, Brendan. Hes no sooner on the show, then he leaves again because Christian managed to successfully widen the gap between Sean and his brother during his own little drug spiral, which is another plot thats poorly developed as well this year. We wait six seasons to see someone from Seans family and we barely get time to know the guy bad move, writers.

Sean and Christians relationship is another sour point of this season too. Through thick and thin, weve always been left to believe that the two of them would still have a friendship by the time this show would end but every season has seemingly chipped away at it that by the time they both come to their seperate ways in the last ever episode the shows 100th, its actually a relief. Im pretty sure thats not the emotion I should be feeling about their friendship eroding but the show certainly ended their once interesting dynamic on a sad note.

As for Liz, well divorcing Christian was never going to be easy and while she failed to finally find someone to love her, she did at least get a baby out of the deal with Sean as well as becoming a partner in the business, so overall, Liz is probably the only person to have really benefitted from this ending.

Other people who didnt benefit included Julia being married off to some random English guy but at least she managed to stop both Sean and Christian in their tracks from pursuing her for the umpteenth time and thats doing much better than either Kimber or Matt to be honest. Julia really isnt that much of a big deal this season and thats probably one of the better things about this year.

However, Im still not sure who got the worst deal Kimber for marrying Christian again, becoming miserable, having an affair with Sean that was impossible to care about and ending it all off-screen or Matt, who decided to sabotage a good thing with Ramona so that he could be Avas whipping boy until she tires of him. That coupled with his complete ease at using Jenna to get back with Ava and that mind numbingly stupid storyline at the start of the year of him being a mime robber were more than enough to make me realise that Matt is still one of the worst TV characters ever written and that this series has had its day.

The last episode of the series isnt horrible and there are some nice emotional beats but after six seasons and 100 episodes, the show more or less came to a whimper of an ending, rather than the bang that it shouldve ended with. Its not that Im against the finale being somewhat more subdued compared to the outlandish stuff the series has mostly given us but still, the ending was a major letdown. I can only hope that this isnt a fate that visits Ryan Murphy again with Glee.

DVD EXTRAS:
This shows never been awash with plentiful extras and for a final DVD set, dont expect much here. Apart from deleted scenes and blooper, the only other offering seems to be a feature on the psychology of plastic surgery and thats really your lot.

Dyno - Back

"I close my eyes and let myself go"

I haven't written about Dyno in some time here on tattoowesley, and it's a shame because they are one of the absolute best new bands of the year. Of the 17 tracks I've heard, they've yet to have a single misstep. They're that rare band where you know you're going to get a little pop epic every single time they release a song. Back is one of their newer songs, and yet another example of their hyper-catchy, lush synth sound. It begins a little tentative before launching into a propulsive, fist-in-the-air chorus. The guys have an EP coming out soon, followed by (hopefully) an album. I can't help but think that these guys are not getting the support, both online and in traditional press, that they deserve. They are seriously more amazing than 99% of music out there right now, and exactly the type of sound this blog was created to highlight. And on another note, isn't that photo (above) stunning? Would make a great album or EP cover. Just sayin'

Video to Watch: GLEE Britney Episode - Baby One More Time - Britney/Brittany and Rachel

Rachel Berry (Lea Michelle) performed "Baby One More Time" on Glee Season 2 Britney Spears episode, but sadly, she can't beat the original. Also, her performance only makes her looked too old for high school. Well actually she is old (for high school).
