Some of you may have heard of the UK's Heads We Dance, and frankly so had I, yet I hadn't really given them much of a listen until recently. Now I can definitely add them to my "bands to be excited about" list (which is admittedly pretty long). They play the kind of poppy electro rock that this blog was all but made for, and they've got several great songs already. My Heart Is Set On You, even in its demo form, is definitely one of them. Extremely catchy even after the first listen, it depicts the band as sort of a mix between The Upper Room and Protocol, to bring up two dearly departed bands.

Honeymoon Suite - New Girl Now



"I don't care if you're sitting at home"

I usually try to keep my daily posts to newer artists, but I can't help writing about this song from the 80's that I heard for the first time on the radio last weekend because it's been playing through my head ever since. Honeymoon Suite were (are?) a Canadian rock band with a major new wave influence. New Girl Now, the kind of punchy guitar-pop track that Roxette was so good at crafting, was one of their biggest hits and it is a great song which sounds just as amazing now as I'm sure it did back in its prime. I will definitely be checking out more from these guys.

X District - Color Correction



"Now that I have you alone"

It may not be as catchy as some of the stuff I post, but I like it just the same. I'm talking about Color Correction by electronic duo X District. It's simple, even "lo fi" dance music with a continually repeating synth hook that feels appropriate during these snowy nights of late fall. Most importantly, it just sounds cool, like you're in some expensive club. And just look at that promo pic, or maybe it's from a video? I don't know, but it's creepy and weird... sort of like the track, actually.

Ghostland Observatory - Silver City



"Well, I don't come from the city"

I posted a song (Sad Sad City) by Ghostland Observatory about a year ago and it now seems that the band is finally getting a bit more attention to coincide with their rerelease of their first two albums. Though Silver City is not the most instantly catchy or upbeat of their songs, it gives a different taste of the band's sound and really becomes quite addictive as you listen to it more and more. Frontman Aaron Behrens has always been praised for his Freddie Mercury esque vocals, and I think this is very apparent at some points in this song.

Fernanda Castillo: de peque�a lleg� a ser una excelente bailarina de cl�sico y jazz.

Vino al mundo un 24 de marzo de 1982 en la Ciudad de M�xico. Su nombre real es Mar�a Fernanda Castillo Garc�a.

Gusta del cine y posee una gran colecci�n de gorras y sombreritos: �Son mis art�culos preferidos�, menciona.

�Pasi�n� es su palabra preferida pues se encuentra en todo lo que ella hace d�a a d�a: �Est� en mi carrera, en las cosas que hago�. Para Fernanda su carrera no es cosa de suerte sino de mucho trabajo.

Terminando CLAP quiso trabajar en teatro musical, la cual es una de sus grandes pasiones y por su puesto le gustar�a volver a integrar el elenco de alguna telenovela de Televisa.

La actriz particip� ha participado en producciones cinematogr�ficas, en el 2005 lo hizo en Coraz�n marchito, la cual nunca se estren� (o se estrenar� en un d�a a�n no especificado) y tuvo una peque�a participaci�n en El �ngel, la muerte y el cazador, de �scar Blancarte.

Facundo: se caracteriza por ser un joven un tanto irreverente y provocador.

Naci� el 29 de abril de 1978 en la ciudad de M�xico.

Su personalidad es totalmente extrovertida, algo que realmente le agrada al p�blico que lo sigue, adem�s tambi�n posee una gran habilidad para salir airoso de momentos muy embarazosos.

Inici� su carrera en el canal de videos Telehit, al lado de su inseparable compa�ero Diego. Ambos conduc�an un emisi�n televisiva llamada Depas�nico, en donde adem�s de presentar videos hac�an entrevistas y visitaban antros.

Facundo fue uno de los 11 famosos que entraron en la casa de Big Brother VIP, de hecho, estuvo a punto de ser el triunfador, pues gracias a su carisma y sus ocurrencias, lo situaron entre los favoritos del p�blico. Al final obtuvo el segundo lugar, por lo que fue nombrado el �rey sin corona�.

En cuanto a su vida personal, en 2002, pese a su juventud se convirti� en padre de una peque�a llamada Valentina, fruto de su relaci�n con Esmeralda, su esposa.

Fabi�n Lavalle: considerado como el conductor de radio y televisi�n m�s destacado de M�xico.

Naci� el 7 de abril en la ciudad de M�xico. Durante todos estos a�os 'Fabiruchis', como lo conocemos todos, ha combinado la radio con la televisi�n al conducir programas como: De Boca en Boca, Duro y Directo, Fuera de la Ley y el programa Hoy, al lado de Alfredo Adame.

Fabi�n ha conducido tambi�n entregas de premios muy importantes en nuestro pa�s entre los que destacan los Heraldos, TV y Novelas, Furia Musical, adem�s de haber viajado para conducir programas de talla internacional como los premios Lo Nuestro y los Grammy.

A principios de 2004 se covierte en uno de los conductores del programa Con Todo y en marzo de ese mismo a�o forma parte de la tercera edici�n del reality show Big Brother VIP.

Tanto el programa Con Todo, as� como su programa de radio La tijera, cumplieron en el 2006 dos a�os de emisi�n. Actualmente, Fabi�n se ha mantenido alejado de la conducci�n en los programas de televisi�n.

Eduardo Espa�a: Ha trabajado en aproximadamente 20 obras de teatro de distintos g�neros

Su nombre real es Eduardo Ram�rez Velazo y naci� el 15 de septiembre de 1971 en la ciudad de Guadalajara, M�xico.

Eduardo es egresado de la primera generaci�n del Centro de Actores y Autores de Occidente (CAAO), en 1992.

Ha trabajado en aproximadamente 20 obras de teatro de distintos g�neros, de dramaturgos como Jes�s Gonz�lez D�vila, William Shakespeare y Dar�o Fo, entre otros.

Ha participado en diversos festivales, entre ellos en la edici�n XXVI del Cervantino. En televisi�n ha trabajado en Al Derecho y al Derbez, Plaza S�samo, Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real y en telenovelas como: El Premio Mayor, Tu y Yo y Carita de �ngel. Adem�s, forma parte del elenco base de Otro Rollo con Adal Ramones.

En cine ha tenido valiosas intervenciones en cortometrajes para el CCC, CUEC, El Tec de Monterrey y la Ibero, como: La Mesa Servida, donde comparte cr�dito con Dami�n Alc�zar, H�roe corto ganador de la menci�n honor�fica en la Muestra de Cine en Guadalajara 2003, en la pel�cula Asesino en Serio dirigida por Antonio Urrutia y en Pu�os Rosas dirigida por Beto G�mez.

En 2004 act�a y produce la obra de teatro Novecento, de Alessandro Baricco, dirigida por Marco Vieyra. Eduardo es tambi�n locutor de radio de importantes marcas comerciales.

Eduardo Capetillo: considerado un gal�n de telenovelas y adem�s cantante reconocido.

Naci� el 13 de abril de 1970 en la ciudad de M�xico. Entr� al medio art�stico cuando gan� en el festival Juguemos a Cantar, donde obtuvo el segundo lugar con la canci�n "Mi grupo toca Rock" lanzada por Orfe�n R�cords.

En 1986, Eduardo ingres� al grupo Timbiriche, ocupando el lugar de Benny, el �xito se concret� con el disco Rock Shows, lanzamiento que corresponde al disco Timbiriche VI, grab� m�s �xitos en el grupo con el disco Timbiriche VII y el �lbum Timbiriche VIII y lX. Hay algunas canciones que Eduardo grab� como "No seas tan cruel", "Todo cambia", "Con todos menos conmigo". Hizo promoci�n y presentaciones por todo M�xico y algunas partes de Latinoam�rica.

En 1989, Eduardo abandon� a la agrupaci�n y empez� su carrera como solista. R�pidamente fue reconocido por el p�blico hispano, y en 1991 consigui� superar el medio mill�n de copias vendidas del disco de cinco canciones de la banda sonora de la telenovela Alcanzar Una Estrella.

Edith M�rquez: est� considerada como la principal representante del pop mexicano.

Durante una visita al programa Siempre en Domingo fue elegida entre el p�blico para interpretar un papel junto al actor Rafael Baled�n. En 2004 protagoniza el melodrama Mujer de Madera, del productor Emilio Larrosa. En agosto de ese mismo a�o la actriz mexicana Edith Gonz�lez dio a luz a su primog�nita, Constanza, una ni�a en una cl�nica de la Ciudad de M�xico. La actriz se neg� a revelar el nombre del padre de la peque�a.

Daniel Habif: Ha participado en cerca de 200 proyectos entre comerciales, telenovelas y pel�culas.

Naci� un 6 de octubre en la ciudad de Mazatl�n.

Su inclinaci�n por la actuaci�n se empieza a demostrar a los 5 a�os, cuando graba algunos comerciales, a los 6 a�os particip� en la telenovela Angeles Blancos (1989) al lado de actores como Jacqueline Andere y Rogelio Guerra.

Daniel Gim�nez Cacho: ganador del Premio Ariel como Mejor Actor por su interpretaci�n en Profundo carmes�.

Naci� el 15 de mayo de 1961 en la ciudad de Madrid, Espa�a.

Ha sabido compaginar a lo largo de su extensa carrera todo tipo de trabajos relacionados con la interpretaci�n: desde el teatro, donde ha interpretado obras de Eugene O'Neil (Largo viaje hacia la noche), Peter Nichols (El juego de la pasi�n), Chesterton (Doble cara), hasta prestar su voz para el narrador de Y tu mam� tambi�n, de Alfonso Cuar�n.

Ha trabajado a las �rdenes de prestigiosos directores y de nuevos cineastas a ambos lados del Atl�ntico, en m�s de 30 pel�culas. Daniel Berlanga: Actor por vocaci�n, entre sus pasatiempos favoritos est� el jugar futbol y Play Station

En realidad su nombre original es Daniel Rolando Gonz�lez Berlanga. Vino al mundo el 8 de noviembre en la ciudad de Tampico, Tamaulipas, M�xico.

Su primera oportunidad la recibe en la telenovela Corazones al l�mite (2004) del productor Roberto Hern�ndez, donde comparte escenas con Aar�n D�az, Sara Maldonado y Sherlyn.

Le gusta el cine aunque no se declara seguidor de alg�n director en especial, entre sus pasatiempos favoritos est� el jugar futbol y Play Station, en lo que invierte gran parte de su tiempo libre.

Tambi�n es amante de la m�sica, en particular de los g�neros metal y alter punk, sin embargo, seg�n sus propias palabras, es capaz de escuchar cualquier tipo de ritmo.

A Daniel le gustar�a incursionar como actor en cine y teatro, aunque la idea de seguir haciendo telenovelas le agrada completamente.

Axwell & Sebastian Fngrosso ft. Salem el Fakir - It's True



"It's true, life will smile for you"

It's True is an odd, yet quite effective collaboration that combines the club sounds of Axwell with the soul pop of Salem el Fakir (and if you haven't checked out Fakir's solo stuff yet, do yourself a favor and give it a listen). It's a "dance" song in the same way that Christian Falk's Dream On (featuring Robyn & Ola Salo) was... heavily repetitive yet very different than most club fare. It's beginning a nice run on the charts as well, especially in Scandinavia. It's only a matter of time before this reaches the UK, I'd guess.

Axwell & Sebastian Fngrosso ft. Salem el Fakir - It's True (zshare)

Dami�n Mendiola: Desde peque�o se ha interesado por la actuaci�n y el canto.

Su nombre real es Dami�n Antonio Mendiola Olmsted, naci� el 23 de febrero de 1975 bajo el signo de piscis. Desde peque�o se ha interesado por la actuaci�n y el canto.

Recibi� su primera oportunidad en la telenovela Primer amor� a mil por hora, donde actu� al lado de Kuno Becker y Anah�.

En su tiempo libre gusta de estar solo, de escuchar m�sica y de leer. Sus cintas favoritas son las de Alejandro Gonz�lez I��rritu, y suele leer revistas relacionadas al mundo de la far�ndula.

Tambi�n ha incursionado en el mundo de la m�sica; primero con el grupo Reto, con quien grab� un disco bajo el sello Rodven, despu�s grab� uno m�s con otra organizaci�n, aunque no lleg� a salir.

Su m�sica favorita es la electr�nica y la balada pop, y tiene predilecci�n por el grupo Sin bandera.

Carlos Espejel: comenz� desde muy peque�o su carrera art�stica.

Carlitos naci� en la ciudad de M�xico el 21 de abril; debutando en el programa de televisi�n Alegrias de Mediod�a, dicha participaci�n fue reconocida por la AMPRYT con el premio �Revelaci�n Masculina�.

Particip� en el programa infantil Chiquilladas, d�ndole vida a diversos personajes, mismos que han quedado en la memoria de chicos y grandes, �Chiquidr�cula� y �Carlinflas� son algunos de ellos.

El primer melodrama en el cual particip� Espejel fue Quincea�era, producci�n de Carla Estrada. Otras telenovelas en su carrera actoral son Amor en Silencio (1988), Morir para Vivir (1989) y Vivo por Elena.

El a�o 2000 fue de gran relevancia para Carlos Espejel, pues cumpli� 20 a�os de carrera art�stica, de ah� que present� con gran �xito su show Los 20 a�os de Carlos Espejel, en el cual hace una recopilaci�n de sus mejores personajes, �ste fue presentado a lo largo y ancho de la Rep�blica Mexicana; adem�s de particip� en el programa Humor Es...Los Comediantes
Un Ba�l lleno de Miedo, (1996) La Era de Hielo (2001) y Un Perro de Otro Mundo (2004) son cintas en las cuales el comediante ha participado, prestando su voz para caracterizar a personajes de los dos �ltimos films citados.

Carlos Eduardo Rico: se dio a conocer profesionalmente como actor.

Naci� el 12 de julio en la ciudad de M�xico.
En televisi�n ha actuado en programas como La Cuchufleta, El Escaparate, Humor es... Los Comediantes, Hoy y Al Fin de Semana. Cabe mencionar que adem�s de participar en Todo se Vale, tambi�n fue guionista de algunos episodios de dicha emisi�n.

Ha tenido una presencia importante en centro nocturno y se ha presentado en importantes foros de la Ciudad de M�xico. Desde 1999 ofrece su espect�culo Al Son de la Risa, en el que ha dado oportunidad a nuevos valores de la comedia.

Desde 2003 es parte del elenco de La Jaula, junto a Rafael Incl�n, C�sar Bono, Carlos Bonavides, Sheyla y Tony Balardi.
Su personaje es Nico, un comediante de bar que dentro de la charla y a�n en sus aventuras siempre busca la frase simp�tica para incluirla en su repertorio de chistes. Es el m�s joven, es carism�tico y conquista a las mujeres por su buen humor.

En marzo de 2004 participa en la tercera edici�n del reality show Big Brother VIP, de donde sale como segundo expulsado.
Contin�a haciendo sus shows nocturnos con gran �xito en la Rep�blica Mexicana.

Carla Estrada: sus inicios fueron en teatro pero sus mayores �xitos los ha tenido en el terreno de la televisi�n, concretamente en las telenovelas.

Su nombre real es Carla Patricia Estrada Guitr�n, es quiz� una de las productoras m�s emblem�ticas de Televisa, de ella se recuerdan telenovelas como Pobre Se�orita Limantur (1987), Quincea�era (1987), Amor de Nadie (1990), Los Parientes Pobres (1993), Lazos de Amor (1995), Te Sigo Amando (1997), El Privilegio de Amar (1999) y Amor Real, todas rotundos �xitos entre el p�blico.

Inici� su carera de productora de telenovelas con Pobre Juventud (1986), tambi�n produjo las historias Amor en Silencio (1988), Amor de Nadie (1990), Los Parientes Pobres (1993), M�s all� del Puente (1994), Alondra (1995), Lazos de Amor (1996), Mar�a Isabel (1998) y El Manantial (2002).

Carla Estrada ha trabajado al lado de grandes actores y actrices como Luc�a M�ndez, Lucero, Adela Noriega, Helena Rojo, Andr�s Garc�a y Mar�a Rojo.

Carla Estrada, quien tambi�n es productora de La Hora Pico y La Parodia, tiene el anhelo de incursionar en la industria cinematogr�fica realizando alguna cinta.

En 2005 se anota otro �xito con la telenovela Alborada, en la que Lucero y Fernando Colunga fueron los protagonistas.

Adamari L�pez: destaca como conductora, modelo, bailarina y portavoz de varias compa��as publicitarias.

Naci� el 18 de mayo, bajo el signo de Tauro en la ciudad de Humacao, Puerto Rico.
A los 8 a�os comenz� su carrera como actriz con la novela Mar�a Eugenia en la que su capacidad histri�nica fue reconocida pues a ella le siguieron Yo s� que ment�a, Vivir para ti y Aventurera, entre otras.

Ha destacado en las pel�culas como, Linda Sara, La Guagua A�rea, H�roes de otra patria y Paradise Lost, producci�n de Estados Unidos.

En Puerto Rico fue premiada por la revista TvyNovelas como la mejor actriz secundaria por la miniserie Hasta el fondo del dolor en 1992; adem�s recibi� el premio a la excelencia en ese mismo a�o.

En 1993 fue premiada como mejor actriz por la novela Libros y sue�os, pero fue en 1998 cuando el cuerpo Legislativo de Puerto Rico le entreg� un reconocimiento por su trayectoria art�stica y el municipio de Humacao por sus logros obtenidos, as� como por haber caracterizado magistralmente todo tipo de papeles.

Fue galardonada por los premios Quijote por su trayectoria internacional. Ese mismo a�o viaj� a M�xico para trabajar en Televisa. Realiz� las novelas Sin Ti, Camila y Locura de Amor consolid�ndose como una figura internacional y reconocida por su calidad como actriz.

Adal Ramones: se destaca por su improvisaci�n, oratoria y expresi�n corporal.

Su nombre real es Adalberto Javier Ramones Mart�nez, naci� el 3 de diciembre en Monterrey, Nuevo Le�n, M�xico.

Estudi� Ciencias de la Comunicaci�n en la Universidad Regiomontana, donde tambi�n particip� en el teatro-comedia, destacando en la improvisaci�n, oratoria y expresi�n corporal.

Destac� en el Canal Telehit al conducir, escribir y dirigir escena; de igual manera, colabora con Luis de Llano Macedo en la realizaci�n de programas especiales para la Vicepresidencia de Producci�n Musical.

Ingenio y creatividad es lo que caracteriza al popular conductor, el cual ha diversificado sus actividades e incursionado en el doblaje de la pel�cula Como Perros y Gatos en la que prest� su voz para el personaje de Lou. Adem�s prepara su incursi�n en el cine con el largometraje Pu�os Rosas.

Adal nuevamente conduce, produce, escribe y dirige escena, pero ahora en su propio programa, Otro Rollo, con el cual realiza m�s tarde un recorrido por el interior de la Rep�blica y en la Ciudad de M�xico con su espect�culo Adal La Gira.

En 2003, la revista TVyNovelas le otorg� un premio como el Mejor Conductor y Otro Rollo como el Mejor Programa de Entretenimiento.

Aar�n D�az: desde chiquito ha sido considerado un gal�n.

Empez� trabajando como modelo durante la temporada que estuvo viviendo en Estados Unidos.

Se dio a conocer interpretando a 'Kike' en la telenovela juvenil Clase 406, que rompi� r�cord al durar un a�o siete meses ininterrumpidos al aire. La segunda telenovela donde act�a es Corazones al l�mite, al lado de Sara Maldonado y Sherlyn.

Durante su participaci�n en Clase 406 fue novio de Sherlyn, poco antes de terminar el melodrama tambi�n termin� el romance, pero durante Corazones al l�mite volvieron a reanudar su relaci�n.
En 2005, Aar�n protagoniza la telenovela Barrera de amor, del productor Ernesto Alonso.

Adela Noriega: Comenz� su carrera cuando ten�a 15 a�os de edad participando en la telenovela Juana Iris

Nacida bajo el signo de escorpi�n el 24 de octubre en la ciudad de M�xico.
Comenz� su carrera cuando ten�a 15 a�os de edad participando en la telenovela Juana Iris, adem�s de algunas participaciones en el programa Cach�n Cach�n Ra, Ra, y as�, poco a poco, se fue familiarizando con el mundo del espect�culo.

En 1987 lleg� una de sus m�s grandes oportunidades en la telenovela Yesenia, tiempo despu�s trabaj� con Thal�a en Quincea�era. Con esos dos �xitos tom� la decisi�n de irse a Estados Unidos a interpretar con un papel estelar una telenovela m�s, Guadalupe.

Para 1995 se convirti� en la estrella de Mar�a Bonita, trabajo que realiz� en Colombia. Debuta en la serie de televisi�n Pioneer Women, en 1973, y acredita su participaci�n en otros programas como La mujer bi�nica, Autopista hacia el cielo y Playas de China. Para 1992 alcanza la fama con la serie Mad about you, con la que gana varios premios Emmy.

Catalogada por la revista People, como una de las cincuenta mujeres m�s bellas del planeta, Hunt gusta de dejar claro que su carrera est� basada en mucho m�s que una cara bonita.

Se casa en 1997 con el actor Hank Azaria -voz de algunos personajes de la serie de televisi�n Los Simpsons- pero un a�o despu�s se divorcia.

Empez� su carrera en teatro, interpretando con �xito los personajes m�s representativos de William Shakespeare: Cleopatra, Hamlet entre otros.
Su debut en el cine lleg� en 1968, desde entonces alterna su carrera teatral con apariciones en la gran pantalla grande.

My review of Angel's 6x01: "After The Fall Part 1"

Angel (to himself): �I don�t tell them they�re here because I took a stand. My friends stood by me. Wolfram and Hart sent an army. There were losses on both sides.�

Eight months and eight issues after the successful launch of Buffy�s eighth season in the comic format, it was inevitable that fans of Angel were going to get the same sort of continuation from the series. Low and behold it�s here but as a hardcore fan, even I had reservations about this comic.

First off I loved the fifth and final season and absolutely detested the WB and their bullshit reasons for cancelling it. However I do have some hang ups that over three years have not gone away. I may be in a minority but I hated the writers for adding Spike into the mix and the contrived way they tried to fit him in with the gang and although Illyria had her uses, she was something we could�ve done without too.

The biggest problem I had with Season Five was the beyond idiotic decision of Joss Whedon�s to kill off 80% of his core characters. Cordelia, Wesley, Gunn and Fred were every bit as vital to the series� success as Angel and I still can�t rack my brains around why Joss would do such a thing.

Season Six�s opening issue however does kick into the action rather speedily as we see a girl in a clearly near devastated LA trying to escape the clutches of a savage demon. In the first page Angel muses about some of his crappier decisions, the biggest one being insane enough to join Wolfram And Hart. Yeah, there�s nothing like losing your friends and hell on earth to come to that conclusion.

Fortunately Angel does what he does best and slays the demon determined to kill the unfortunate lady. Even better is that the dragon Angel wanted to slay is actually helping him and there�s nothing more impressive than seeing Angel�s new pal scorch an entire army of demons. Yeah, now that we�re in comic land we�re getting to see things that you would die to see onscreen.

Funnily enough Angel then shifts his attention on the girl and two of her mates doing a bit of looting and scolds them. One of the pals is quick to point out that they�re stealing for survival. LA really has become quite the hell dimension but Angel just gives the girl and her friends an address for a place for them to hide before taking off with the dragon.

The girl is quick to wonder why LA has become the way it has over the last couple of months and it�s not much of a surprise that Angel has heard this time and time again. He points out that he�s responsible for how badly things have shaped out. Wolfram And Hart weren�t best pleased with Angel�s attempts to take them down in �Not Fade Away� but even Angel couldn�t have foreseen the evil law firm seeing LA quite literally to hell.

Concept wise, this is pretty damn cool. Compare this to any classic apocalyptic going and that is the rumoured outline to what a televised sixth season of the series would�ve been like. Angel�s also quick to point out that it took the humans longer to figure out they were in deep shit while many of the demons took advantage of the misfortune and carved out their own territories.

Angel�s heroics at the start are then challenged by the revelation that not only is he still living in Wolfram And Hart but he�s set upon by the surviving demons� leader and the leader�s father Burges.

Burges is established as the lord of downtown LA but it�s his bratty son who wants payback for the scorched army and smacks Angel around as a means of getting even. To say I didn�t want this demon killed there and then would be an understatement but mouthy demons are nothing compared to Wesley stepping out of a white room.

I know the last time we saw Wesley he was dead but here he seems to breathing and cool. He�s not exactly jumping up to save Angel�s life in the physical sense but he does get Burges� annoying away from decimating Angel, so there�s points there. Wesley even makes a sarcastic crack about denying Angel his TV privileges to which neither Angel or Burges� brat find particularly. Too bad because I could imagine Alexis Denisof delivering that line quite well onscreen.

Now before you ask, Wesley hasn�t been miraculously resurrected (which sucks because no matter how cheesy, I want Cordy, Gunn, Fred and Wesley back and breathing). Instead his ghost is legally bound to Wolfram And Hart and he�s now the liaison between them and Angel. Well anything is better than Eve or Hamilton I suppose.

Still while he�s forced to help out the evil law firm it doesn�t altogether mean that Wesley is evil as he does ask Angel what happened to the people Angel rescued. Please tell me there�s some nice plotting against Wolfram And Hart because I�m not too thrilled with the idea of Angel and Wesley being total pawns for them.

The people themselves have managed to get as far as Santa Monica in their quest for safety. Between some quips about Angel being hot but untrustworthy, the bigger issue is to whom Angel has sent these people to. I was kind of hoping that perhaps Gunn would factor here but it�s mainly a hotel full of a human/good demons and then there�s electro girl Gwen Raiden.

Last seen in Season Four, Gwen is the first familiar face to see if the distressed people are good guys but it�s werewolf Nina Ash�s tactic that�s more interesting. If you can�t get enough of the gay subtext between Faith and Gigi, then Nina coming up to a former lawyer and licking her face is quite erotic if creepy.

Interestingly enough both Gwen and Nina have a leader and it makes sense their commander happens to be Connor. He saw the carnage that LA was heading for and it makes sense that he would want to help. Also can I say that a Connor/Gwen/Nina team is a good idea? Angel needs as many decent allies as he can get and we need decent characters to.

Back in Wolfram and Hart, while Angel is getting healed up by a mystic spider of sorts, there�s a very interesting exchange between him and Wesley that not only could be a reflection on the bleaker elements of Season Five but also of what this season could have in store for us too.

Wesley challenges Angel about both of them being unable but also he expresses some disapproval of Angel�s decision to save civilians and put them under Connor�s care. He�s also quite negative about the idea of Angel still trying to defeat Wolfram And Hart. I don�t want to sound overtly romantic but I�d like to think there will be some form of a happy ending in this season.

I like that Angel is still determined to try and fix this mess. Regardless of what Wesley is saying (or perhaps being forced to say by the senior partners), there�s something that has to be undone about this mess. It�s also alarming that the ever useless Powers That Be aren�t making some effort to help Angel. They should be via the use of Cordelia/Fred.

Still there might be some flicker of hope for Angel as while Wesley is telling him to get some control, there�s an image of a sphere. It�s the same sphere that�s also stuck inside the skeletal demon KR�PH who has taken over a stadium and is forcing those he�s kidnapped into a battle of his own.

Surrounded by a hoard of scantily clad women, other demons and would be warriors, the thing that stands out the most is a telepathic fish in chains called the Splenden Beast. Then again anything is slightly better than the humans talking about their former occupation.

When I first heard that a telepathic fish was going to be a canonized character in the sixth season, I slightly groaned. I really shouldn�t have because the fish in question is actually quite cool. Visually he�s one of the best drawn things in the entire issue but also I liked his resentment in being forced to brain yell at the hapless humans to fight each other. Plus he gets a witty comment or two in his short sequence.

KR�PH might like to think he�s a big bad in the making but as the Splenden Beast points out, there�s some humans who are more angered rather than scared of him. KR�PH learns that the hard way when a gang lead by Gunn storm into the stadium and not only do they slaughter his arm but they kill him on the spot and steal the sphere. Surely Angel should be pleased about this development but then him and Gunn haven�t interacted in this issue.

Gunn�s a bit more flirtatious and cocky here than I remember him last but it�s not a bad thing. He�s got a neat little gang and he even frees the women. However the biggest shock of the entire issue is that Gunn also happens to now be a vampire and ends this issue by feasting on one of the women. It�s incredibly given what happened to his sister and how much he hates the blood suckers himself. Not altogether sure I like that particular development.

Angel on the other hand gets a little bit of a zest by killing that tedious brat of Burges but it also means he�s officially declaring war on the demon kind of LA while Wesley walks cryptically back into the white room. If Twilight is a foreboding sense of danger in Buffy, then this hell on earth and the further evil machinations of Wolfram And Hart could very well beat it. That being said I dig that Angel isn�t prepared to totally surrender even he has been massively losing this battle so far.

There are five covers for this issue with two of them being the same. The one I bought was Angel in prayer mode.

Female Lawyer (to Angel): �One minute everything was fine and then � I didn�t deserve this! I�m a good person! I�m a lawyer.�

This issue opened with Angel saying the same thing he said in �City Of�. It started with a girl. Only this time, the girl has changed.

Angel (to himself): �Go against their rules, the punishment would be worse. Not sure how but they�re Wolfram and Hart. They not only know of places worse than hell, they have timeshares there.�

Burges: �So vampire how was work? Slaughter lots of big bad monsters?�
Angel: �It�s not work when you love what you do. Always a pleasure Burge.�

Wesley is dressed in the way we met him back in Buffy�s third season. Parts of that personality are also surfacing too.

Angel: �They were trying to kill people. Right under my nose. Can�t help but notice your grip is getting tighter.�
Wesley: �Now Angel I�m sure they weren�t trying to kill the humans. They were trying to enslave them.�

Angel: �I don�t even know why I carry one with me. Haven�t had to use one for months. Remember when vampires were our biggest problem?�
Wesley: �Only when you went bad.�

Someone online said the hotel where Connor, Gwen and Nina were staying was the Hyperion. Not entirely sure if that�s true but it would make sense.

Gwen (to civilians): �Chill out hotshot, just wanna see if you�re on the up and up.�

Nina: �No it�s the sun/moon situation. They�re both out at once. Do you have any idea what that does to a werewolf?�
Female Lawyer: �Makes you hungry?�
Nina: �No.�
Female Lawyer: �Makes you bi-curious?�

Angel mentioned a female�s death being the reason behind his decision to take on Wolfram and Hart. It has to be Cordelia and Fred. Because of W&H, at least one of them is dead.

Angel (re spider creature): �Do I feel it? This thing is alive?�
Wesley: �Something in this room should be. It�s not capable of emotion.�

Cop: �Warrior? I was a cop.�
Bouncer: �I was a bouncer. That�s kinda like a warrior, I guess.�

What exactly does that neat little orb do that both Angel and Gunn were in pursuit of it?

KR�PH: �A gaggle of mongrels die for every second you don�t brain yell.�
Betta George: �Man, does everyone hate you?�

Gang Member (re KR�PH): �You hear that Gunn? Man wants to help us get what we want.�
Gunn: �Oh, I know he can. He�s just not going to be the biggest fan of how.�

Because this is IDW comics, there�s a promo of their upcoming Doctor Who comics featuring The Doctor and Martha.

Gunn: �You may have been a team before I joined but I trained. Plus I co-ordinated the outfits.�
Gang Member: �You made us wear these.�

Angel (to himself): �I was told not to leave this building, not one step. I was also told that everything I was doing was wrong. A friend said it, face to transparent face. Thing is � everything�s different and I don�t know who told him to say it.�

No Spike, Illyria, or Lorne in this issue. None are referenced by either Angel, Wesley or Gunn.

Angel (to himself): �It all begins with a stake to the eye. Of course this might be exactly what Wolfram and Hart wants, that�s fine. Let them think they�re in charge. Wolfram and Hart have taken away everything I had. Everyone I cared for, everything I was. But that�s how I�m going to win. They think they�ve changed me.�

Chronology: A few months since �Not Fade Away�, possibly around the same time as Buffy�s �The Long Way Home�.

Well this surreal. In a lot of way the maxi-season (12 issues) of �After The Fall Part 1� captured a lot of interesting angles. The cruel fates handed to both Wesley and Gunn certainly up the ante and the lack of Spike and Illyria certainly helped proceedings. Looking forward to the next issue. The artwork however in some places is a little on the iffy side.

"It'd be more than I could take if I just told you"

I hope that everyone that celebrates it had a nice Thanksgiving. Ours was subdued and relaxing as usual... just the way that I like it. As the week closes, I've got a sweet, soft electropop love song for you. It may not be a hit-you-over-the-head pop masterpiece, but I instantly liked the sentiment and the catchy melody. The duo reminds me a lot of Postal Service, but I've never liked Postal Service, so who knows why Plastic Operator appeals to me. I guess it's because they sound a bit more Scandinavian, which of course is always my thing. Anyways, Folder grows on me each time I hear it and I think under the right circumstances these guys could have a hit with it.

Semi Precious Weapons - Magnetic Baby



"I've been magnetic since I was a baby"

New York's Semi Precious Weapons fall firmly in the Hedwig/Do Me Bad Things/Kevin Cahoon category of punky glam rock. I'm not entirely sure of what I think of the entire debut album (which is available for free at their website and is produced by the legendary Tony Visconti), but I am definitely into their new single Magnetic Baby. It's everything a song of its kind should be: loud, glamourous, trashy and a whole lot of fun. There's no doubt that frontman Justin Tranter has the makings of a great glam rock star. We'll just have to see what these guys do next.

Hayde� Navarra: le hubiera gustado dedicarse a su profesi�n de periodista y trabajar en el cine.

Naci� en la ciudad de Veracruz, M�xico, un 19 de junio.
Estudia ciencias de la comunicaci�n en Veracruz, pero debido al fallecimiento de su padre se muda la ciudad de M�xico en donde decide estudiar actuaci�n en el Centro de Estudios Art�sticos de Televisa (CEA).

Su primera oportunidad de participar dentro del mundo de las telenovelas, su debut lo realiza en la historia As� son Ellas. A dicho melodrama le siguieron Amigas y Rivales y Bajo la Misma Piel.

Hayde� se�ala que de no haber sido actriz le gustar�a ejercer su carrera de comunicaci�n para incorporarse en el �mbito period�stico. Adem�s asegura que le gustar�a incursionar en el terreno del cine con un papel antag�nico.

Gusta de ir al cine, salir de viaje y compartir sus ratos libres con sus amigas. Sus cantantes favoritos son Kalimba, Benny Ibarra y el grupo Sin Bandera. Entre sus programas preferidos est�n XHDERBEZ y Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real.

En 2006 regresa a las telenovelas con H�ridas de amor recibiendo su segunda oportunidad.

Valentino Lan�s: deja su carrera de inform�tica por su gran pasi�n �la m�sica�

Vino al mundo un 3 de mayo en la ciudad de M�xico, bajo el signo de Tauro.

Sus primeros pasos fueron dentro del modelaje con el nombre de Valentino Mazza, actividad que alternaba en una discoteca como animador.

Originalmente sus estudios se enfocaron en Ingenier�a en Inform�tica, pero dej� al poco tiempo su carrera cuando descubri� que la m�sica era su pasi�n.

El productor Andr� Barren lo prepara para lanzarlo como cantante, sin embargo el proyecto fracasa, aunado a esto es invitado a ingresar al CEA de Televisa en busca de una nueva oportunidad, misma que lleg� a los pocos meses.

Es as� que debuta en la Telenovela Mar�a Isabel, al lado de Adela Noriega. Con la cual ser�a su puerta al estrellato de la televisi�n azteca� Su destacado trabajo hace que sea solicitado para trabajar en grandes producciones de telenovelas como: Amor Gitano y La Casa en la Playa.

Su carisma y su estilo para actuar hicieron que se colocara entre los favoritos del p�blico convirti�ndose as� en "el gal�n de moda" y junto con Ana Layevska ha conformado una de las parejas m�s importantes de la televisi�n.

Susana Gonz�lez: de ni�a siempre fue t�mida e idealizaba tener una amiga confidente, pero no lograba conseguirlo.

Naci� en Zacatecas, M�xico y nunca imagin� que conquistar�a los corazones y la preferencia del p�blico degustador de Telenovelas.

Sebasti�n Rulli: antes de ser actor trabajaba como modelo en diferentes pa�ses europeos.

Su primera oportunidad dentro de la televisi�n mexicana la recibi� en la telenovela Primer amor: A 1000 x hora (2000) en la que interpret� el personaje de 'Mauricio'.

Este gran actor vino al mundo el 6 de julio en la ciudad de Buenos Aires � Argentina, bajo el signo de c�ncer.

Antes de ser actor, Sebasti�n comenz� a trabajar como modelo en diferentes pa�ses europeos, como Mil�n, Par�s, Zurich, adem�s de Tokio, Miami y M�xico.

Sebasti�n Rulli, particip� en los melodramas mexicanos Sin pecado concebido (2001), Clase 406 (2002) y Alegrijes y rebujos (2003).

En sus ratos libres el actor gusta de conectarse a Internet y practicar deportes como tennis, squash, paddle, f�tbol, buceo, golf, surf y ciclismo, entre otros.

Yadhira Carrillo: destac� siempre por ser una estudiante talentosa y perseverante.

Nacida bajo el signo de Tauro, el 12 de mayo en Aguas Calientes � M�xico.
En el a�o de 1994 fue elegida Nuestra Belleza Aguascalientes, pero ella no s�lo quer�a ser reconocida por su cara bonita sino por su gran talento art�stico profesional. De esta manera ingresa a CEA de Televisa para prepararse como actriz.

Destac�ndose como una gran actriz, obtiene su primer papel en la pantalla chica. La productora Carla Estrada le dio su primera oportunidad como actriz con el papel de 'Teresa' en la telenovela Te Sigo Amando.

Posteriormente volver�a a trabajar con Estrada, interpretando a 'Josefina' en Mar�a Isabel, al lado de Adela Noriega y Fernando Carrillo.
Luego de participar en varios episodios de Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real y hacer una villana en el especial M�s all� de La Usurpadora, logr� su primer coestelar en la historia infantil El ni�o que vino del mar.

El talento y capacidad histri�nica de Yadhira hicieron que Ernesto Alonso se fijara en el y le ofreciera ser la antagonista de El Precio de tu Amor.
El 'Se�or Telenovela' vislumbr� en ella a una actriz con futuro y por ello le brind� la oportunidad de estelarizar su nueva telenovela, La Otra, en la que se enfrenta a un doble reto al tener que dar vida a dos personajes diametralmente opuestos.

A sus ocho a�os de carrera, Yadhira ya debut� en el extranjero con un papel especial en la exitosa telenovela espa�ola El Secreto, en la que interpret� a una ex novia perversa del protagonista, el tambi�n mexicano Eduardo Capetillo.

En 2004 comienza la telenovela Amarte es mi Pecado, en donde protagoniza junto a Sergio Sendel y Alessandra Rosaldo, producci�n de Ernesto Alonso.
Ese mismo a�o, se integra al elenco de Rub�, producci�n de Jos� Alberto Castro.

En el 2005 se protagoniza la telenovela Barrera de amor.

I, like many, have been anticipating Kylie's comeback cd for awhile now and I must say I'm not happy with the result. 2 Hearts was alright (though it doesn't fit in the context of the album at all) and the rest of the record is divided by good, classy songs that remember that pop music has got to have a melody, and some atrocious bits that I hated as soon as I heard them (Nu-Di-Ty & All I See spring directly to mind). Luckily, there's been so much material that's come out of the "X" sessions that I've just gone ahead and made my own comeback cd. I wanted to build it around two of my favorite tracks that Kylie's recorded in the past few years. My initial inspiration was I Believe In You (released in late 2004), one of the most gorgeous things Minogue has ever sung. Secondly, I knew I had to include White Diamond, the should-have-been first single from the new album, which I'm posting for download today. See what you think of my mix. I find it one hundred times more satisfying (and far less schizophrenic) than the actual album:

Rolling Stone is not the bastion for new music than it used to be (in fact, I hardly even read it anymore), so it was to my surprise that one of their top ten new artists to watch actually resonated with me. MGMT (pronounced "Management") play alternative pop music that's not too far away from the kind of stuff that Arcade Fire is doing right now. This song, though, I think is better than most of Arcade Fire's stuff. The vocals are less shouty and the melody is absolutely gorgeous. It's more of a slow burner than most of the stuff I post, but it's definitely worth the patience.

Itat� estuvo casada con el tambi�n actor Eduardo Santamarina, con el cual procre� dos ni�os, que son gemelos. A principios de 2004 se divorciaron.

En 2004 tambi�n participa en el doblaje de la cinta 'Thunderbirds'.
